SEMINARS

The seminars are open to the following categories:

  • Conductors
  • Soloists
  • Singers

AIM

The seminars offer participants the opportunity to prepare and perform a program with orchestra in Vienna, such as:

  • an orchestral work,
  • a solo concerto, or
  • an opera aria.

AGE LIMIT

The seminars are open to musicians of all nationalities, with no age limit.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

Maximum 4 participants per category.

LOCATION

Depending on hall availability, performances will take place at venues such as:

  • Musikverein
  • Konzerthaus
  • Baroque Hall
  • Ehrbar Hall
  • etc.

STRUCTURE

The seminar consists of three parts:

Part I: Online Preparation – 10 hours

(The schedule of group and individual lessons will be fixed according to participant and organizational availability.)

  • Score analysis
  • Interpretation
  • Knowledge of the orchestra
  • Recording plan

Part II: Rehearsal with Piano in Vienna – 2 hours

(Orchestral reduction)
One day before Part III.

Part III: Performance with Orchestra in Vienna – 1 hour

  • The performance is recorded using multi-camera video and studio microphones.
  • The event is open to the public.

The exact date will be fixed in accordance with hall and participant availability.

INSTRUCTOR

The masterclass is led by Prof. Boris Perrenoud, renowned professor of orchestral conducting, with many years of international experience in concerts and recordings worldwide.

ORCHESTRA

The orchestra of the Wiener Musikakademie is composed of musicians from the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic, and other highly qualified musicians from Vienna.

RECORDING

The performance will be recorded using multi-camera video and multiple microphones to achieve a professional result.

APPLICATION

To apply, please submit a video link.

A maximum of 4 participants will be selected per category after a successful audition.
The application is free of charge.

Promotion
The promotion program makes the link between study and professional life of musicians.
In this often critical transition, the promotion program contributes to get the necessary experience to become of a professional musician.

Recording
We organize regularly multi-cameras recordings to market our students on an international scale.

Concert
The students are regularly performing in Vienna and abroad.

Management
The students of the promotion program are getting promoted on an international scale.

Teaching
The advanced students have the possibility to teach in workshops and get the teaching experience and income.

Support
We support our students, who are looking for a financial support to achieve a musical project.
Depending on the amount needed, the project will be submitted to the appropriate organizations.
